Birthday Cake!

Morning all,

Hope you're having a good week so far. It's been pretty chilly here but sadly we've not had any snow yet, so no chance for handbrake doughnuts in the snow. I'm hopeful we'll get some next time round if we're lucky!

I spotted this scrummy cake digi over at the DigiStamp Boutique and just had to have it for a birthday card I needed to make for this week. I've used Promarkers to colour and thought I'd make a step card, with the die I bought last year, but haven't used nearly as often I should.

Now if only I had a cake like this to eat now...I'd be a very happy bunny!

Hello Daisy!

Good morning,

It's back to earth with a bump this week and the boring routine of a full week of work after the Christmas holidays...boohoo, not a happy bunny!

I was sorting through my digi images over the Christmas holidays, moving them into files to make them easier to find, when I came across my Little Miss Muffet Stamps digis and was completely inspired to make a card with this adorable Polka Dot Pals 'Daisy' image.

It feels like such a long time since I coloured anything in and it's not often I say this...but I really enjoyed colouring this little cutie...I think she's adorable!

I cut the frame around the image by using the big square die from my Die-namics Blueprints set 3, after intially thinking I would cut it by hand using a metal ruler and scalpel...thank goodness for metal dies!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges...
A Gem of A Challenge #135..Something New (Enamel Dots) ends 16/1/15
Sweet Stampin'...New (Enamel Dots) ends 10/1/15
I ♥ Promarkers #250...Anything Goes ends 6/1/15

Favourite Five Creations of 2014

Good morning everyone,

I'm joining in with Debby over at A Scrapjourney to show you my favourite 5 cards of 2014.

I use the term 'favourite' very loosely, as I can't help but be a bit indifferent and self critical towards anything I make and this in itself, made my choices very difficult. In the end I picked cards using images and design papers that inspired me to create the cards in the first place. Flaky decision making I know...but these are the choices I ended up with...

Thanks for visiting my favourite five...if you want to join in you have until Tuesday 6th January to enter.

Last Post of 2014!

Hello,

I wanted to use my last post of 2014 to say thank you to those of you who visit my blog regularly and who take the time to leave comments on my cards.

I haven't blogged as often as I would like to this year and I am so grateful for your continued support and for leaving such wonderful, encouraging comments on my creations.
I wish you and your families all the best for the new year and I hope it will continue to be very crafty for all of you!

I also want to use this post to share some pictures that were taken when my son's girlfriend Kelly came over from the USA to visit us for 10 days in July. James and Kelly met for the first time in March 2014 when my hubby accompanied James to the USA for 10 days and then Kelly came over on her own, to stay with us for 10 days.

We bought some balloons to welcome her to our home and we had them personalised at our local balloon shop

I also decorated a plain brown gift bag which we filled with hand picked gifts

Hand picked gifts that we chose for Kelly

After Kelly returned to the USA, I decided to make an exploding box containing pictures of her trip to the UK, for her to keep as a memory of her first trip to England

Exploding box - Top Layer
Kelly's Arrival at Heathrow
Hell Fire Caves
Paradise Park Wildlife Park

Exploding Box - Middle Layer
Thorpe Park
Bodiam Castle
Hastings

Exploding Box - Bottom Layer
Trip to London including a ride on the London Eye

Alice in Wonderland

Morning...how ya doing?
Have you managed to survive the Christmas festivities?

I have...just about!  However, I need to stop dipping into the choccies and start eating some nice healthly veggies...the minds willing, but the body's not!!!!

Anyhoo...as I haven't made anything recently, I thought I'd share a card I was asked to make, back in November. The theme had to be Alice in Wonderland and I was to incorporate the AIW clock, the original date and time of birth, Lily and 'Great Niece'.

After lots of searching on the internet I managed to find a freebie download of an AIW clock (link below) and I placed the hands on 12 mintes past 7 as per the brief I was given.  The Alice image was a download from Pink Cat Studio (link below).

My work colleague was absolutely delighted with the end result even though I was a bit sceptical that the card would be too busy...it is 'curious' the requests we crafters often receive, but then I guess that's the excitement of a handmade card being personalised for the individual!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges...
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge...#208 Anything Goes (ends 6/1/15)
Papertake Weekly...Pick A Fav Oh How Cute - 23/9/14 (ends 6/1/15)

Digital Images: Pink Cat Studio (Lily as Alice) and Dana Hinders (Alice in Wonderland Clock Face)
Design Papers: From my scrap drawer

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Woohoo...it's Christmas Day and I'd like to say to all of my lovely followers and visitors...

Merry Hohoho image

I hope Christmas brings everything you hoped for and more and my thoughts are with anyone who may be alone over the festive period. We're at home today, just the four of us and we'll be eating, drinking and by 3pm, probably sleeping!

I also thought I'd share a piccy of a batch of quick Christmas cards I threw together last weekend (just in time for last posting day...phew) and apart from the envelopes not being very adhesive I was quite pleased with how they turned out. The cards are A6 in size and I purposely made them not too deep with embellishments, so they could be posted without having to go large on the stamps!

Golfing Dad (70)

Good morning everyone,

Brrrr, it's been really chilly here over the last few days and the weather forecast in the coming days doesn't look any better either. I think I need to finally give in and dig out my winter coat and stop wearing my Macintosh...its just not warm enough now.

I was asked to make a card for a work colleagues Dad, who recently turned 70...this fab image from Bugaboo immediately sprang to mind as he's so perfect for the occasion. I've kept the design fairly clean and simple and used my fav 'Summer Breeze' papers from Nitwit!

Thanks for stopping by today...I'm always so appreciative of any comments that are left for me, especailly during this busy time leading up to Christmas!

Wedding Anniversary Cards

Good morning,

I almost started off with an apology for my lack of blogging recently, but looking at my most recent posts I seem to start them all exactly the same way :( I honestly don't know where the time goes and feel a bit shell shocked that I'm posting during half-term, with the clocks having gone back an hour over the weekend...summer is officially over!

As I haven't made any cards recently I thought I'd share some anniversary cards I made a while ago but haven't had time to blog yet. I can't claim that I came up with the design though...I was inspired by a card I spotted on Debs blog (Especially For You) earlier this year and liked her design so much I 'borrowed' the idea for 40th, 50th & 60th Wedding Anniversary cards.

I really love this design, so thank you Debs for the inspiration.  I really hope you don't mind me 'casing' your original card design and I can't thank you enough for providing some much needed inspiration for these cards!
